About Hamandeep
About me: Throughout my personal studies I have been resilient, thoughtful about my future steps and willing to go the extra mile to achieve whatever I have set my mind to. I'm excited to share this passion and work-ethic with my fellow students I tutor and hope to give them the tools they need to advance their skills and knowledge appropriate to their goals for the future! I've always continued to help others and find a lot of satisfaction in doing so, from being a peer mentor throughout college and university to being course representative and school president as well! There is no doubt you will enjoy your time with me as I'm here to fulfil your needs and help as much as I can while pushing you to strive for excellence as my main priority for you! My interests and priorities: Like many of my friends would say, I am focused on getting better and to achieve excellent results in whatever I do, from playing football, cricket, going to the gym, to group projects and examinations. One important thing in all these activities is the aspect of enjoying yourself, being invested and believing in the process. This is something I carry forward in my tutoring as I want all students to have the freedom in choosing what helps them learn better and being there along the way to support you. Teaching and my promise to you: I am willing to travel or book online classes to meet your learning needs as I am very determined and happy to invest my time and effort into you as you have done by going out of your way and taking the initiative for choosing me and caring about your studies! :) I am versatile with online learning tools or simple pen and paper and more than happy to use either. My style is to help you understand concepts from the basics and build it up to the level you need which I firmly believe helps solidify your knowledge and confidence. I like to ensure I'm efficient and I best use the time given to me so you can get the most value out of tutoring. Importantly, I don't want my students to feel pressured and instead to be open with me about their needs to effectively address any concerns they have. I really care for the service I give and would not be satisfied if for any reason I couldn't help the student as they might've been hesitant to ask me questions. I will test appropriately the knowledge we learn in class and give homework if needed to better improve your comprehension and proficiency in that subject. I've always believed that practice makes perfect when studying certain subjects like Maths and English, but I also know having the right resources and fundamentals is equally important to be successful. As I'm quite organised and manage my time very well, I will ensure before class I have all the materials needed and set out a clear and easy to follow plan throughout the class, which I am happy to be flexible with. I like to maintain contact and have quick/friendly conversion whether that's over the phone or by email to discuss arrangements before the tutoring time as well. As Course Representative and School President at university and college I've managed to help driving student learning experience forward many times. From listening to student feedback and direct conversations I frequently create a successful ecosystem to deliver constructive, important information and plans of action to senior staff and professional bodies at the institutes that, with my help have delivered on these student requests. As Peer Mentor (University) and Student Tutor (for 1st year College students) I have been motivated to help students in both their studies and personal goals with strategies/priorities I have mentioned above. I recently received Peer Mentor of the Year Award for my contribution to the Peer Support service at my university by supporting a cohort of students and delivering upon their needs; empathising and being aware of the service in general and the improvements that could help future students really helped me realise my potential in this area. All in all, I hope to deliver my very best to help you achieve your goals and strive for success, and having read this bio, raise your confidence in my ability to do so!
