About Evangelyn
I am a patient and approachable student who enjoys helping others understand math in a simple and stress-free way. Since I am still learning myself, I understand how confusing certain topics can feel, which helps me explain things clearly and in a way that makes sense to younger students. My approach as a tutor is focused on making math feel simple, engaging, and confidence building for students from pre K through middle school. I use a step by step teaching method that starts with understanding what the student already knows, then gradually introducing new concepts using clear explanations, visuals, and real life examples they can relate to. I keep lessons interactive by asking questions, using games for younger kids, and practicing together instead of just lecturing. A typical lesson begins with a quick review, followed by learning a new concept, guided practice, and ending with independent practice or a fun activity to reinforce the skill. What sets me apart is my patience and my ability to adjust my teaching style based on each student’s pace, making sure they feel comfortable asking questions and never feel judged for mistakes. My lessons are designed for young learners at the elementary to middle school level, including beginners who are just learning numbers as well as students who need help with topics like addition, fractions, or early algebra.
