About Jamal
Hi, I’m Jamal. I am an incoming student at UPenn’s Wharton School, and I love breaking down complex systems to find the most efficient solutions. Whether I am running my neighborhood landscaping business, building custom PC setups, or competing in the 110-meter hurdles and pole vault, I always approach challenges with a structured mindset. I apply this same focus on logic to my studies in advanced math, especially when dealing with the details of math and English.
This passion for problem-solving also drives my work in the community. Through the National Honor Society, I have plenty of experience tutoring students in tough high school classes. Instead of just teaching tricks to memorize, I help students understand the actual logic behind the material. I treat mistakes simply as helpful data points to learn from, which takes the stress out of high-stakes academics and helps others build real, independent confidence.

My tutoring style is all about breaking down tough math into simple, logical steps. Instead of making you memorize endless formulas, I help you understand the why behind advanced math so you can tackle problems completely on your own. A typical 60-minute session is super structured but low-stress: we spend the first 10 minutes reviewing past mistakes to clear up any confusion, 15 minutes breaking down a new concept, 25 minutes practicing real problems together, and the final 10 minutes making sure you can explain the ideas back to me in your own words. What sets me apart is that I treat mistakes just as helpful data points to learn from, which completely takes the anxiety out of hard classes. This approach is built specifically for ambitious elementary to high school students who want to move past memorization, ace their advanced math tracks, and build true confidence!
