About Diego
I started tutoring in high school, when other students asked me to help them study the subjects we were seeing in class. I was part of the National Olympiads for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, earning a silver medal in the latter. I continued teaching and tutoring during my undergraduate and graduate studies. I graduated with honors, and did a master’s degree at Johns Hopkins University, under the tutelage of Dr Kenneth Karlin, who is an international leader in copper and iron bioinorganic research. I’ve always been interested in understanding how things work; I’m a curious person who enjoys learning in general. I love reading and traveling, and I believe they are some of the best ways to learn. I’ve always enjoyed discovering new places and learning new things. I like making spontaneous comparisons to try and help understand a new subject, as well as giving examples from everyday life. I like my classes to be entertaining, while always maintaining an atmosphere of respect.

I've been tutoring for years, since I've always enjoyed sharing my knowledge and helping others. I was a teaching assistant and private tutor at Johns Hopkins University. My approach emphasizes the cultivation of critical thinking skills. I avoid rote memorization, opting instead to concentrate on fostering an understanding of the underlying principles and logic of the subjects. Depending on the individual needs of the student, we can either concentrate on particular topics or develop and strengthen the syllabus throughout the semester. My students vary widely, ranging from elementary school children with a keen interest in science and mathematics to seniors in university.
