About Leo

Hi! I’m Leo and I offer bespoke guitar, piano and songwriting tuition online and in-person within London.

I have 20 years' experience as an artist in the music industry. As the songwriter and singer in the band Ten Fé, my songs have over 100m streams on Spotify and I have been signed to both major and independent record labels (SONY/Pias). My music has appeared on Radio 1, 6 Music, XFM, and the Jukebox of the Old Vic on Eastenders (!).

I have performed at a host of music festivals (Glastonbury/Bonarro/Bestival), and toured internationally across the US and Europe. Throughout this time, I have performed with acts such as Fontaines DC, Young Fathers, Adam Ant, and Mumford and Sons. My music has appeared in TV series, films, commercials and video games (Made in Chelsea, The Wrong Missy, T-Mobile, Lincoln Cars), and has been featured in publications such as the NME, Interview Magazine, The Guardian, and I-D.

I am self-taught as a songwriter and guitarist, and was classically trained in the piano. I have a good knowledge of music theory and technique. I have diplomas in both Fine Art and Creative Writing, and have completed professional courses in poetry, clowning and psychotherapy. One of the things I hold most important in terms of creative learning is that it is not constricted to one field, or discipline - you need to follow your instinct wherever it takes you.

Do you want to be able to pick up the guitar and play the songs you love?

Do you want to be able to accompany your friends as they all sing along?

Do you want to both sing and play in front of an audience?

You can! Singing and playing songs is my life. I have 15 years' experience of teaching the guitar through songcraft so that you are both learning guitar and performance technique at the same time. You'll be surprised by how much you improve without realising it!

Maybe you're an absolute beginner who has always dreamt of being able to play; or perhaps you've been playing for years but you're not quite able to play the songs you want, or have the confidence to perform.

I have taught lessons to all levels: from beginners to professional musicians. I have taught one-to-one and in groups; in workshops and classrooms. Whatever your level, we will find it and play TOGETHER. I shall commit all my experience and enthusiasm to helping you become a better guitarist and musician.

Lessons typically last 50 minutes to an hour, and are student-led in terms of learning the music you want to learn: pop, rock, country, folk, reggae, metal ... all of them at once if you like :)

I am DBS certified. I also offer some lessons at a lower cost if affordability is a barrier and I would be happy to discuss this with you. I am new to the platform and will post reviews as soon as I have them.
