About Gerrit
I'm 24 years old and I have been tutoring for 5 years while completing my degree in Math for Secondary Education. I'm young, have classroom experience, and currently work part time in schools, so I understand what it is like to be a student in the 21st Century. I have helped many different types of students develop confidence in their own abilities. I have worked locally in-person in Holland, Michigan, but now I have the technology tools to bring my expertise online and offer a more flexible schedule for my students.

I like to help students through their current math courses and exam prep materials, finding roadblocks, and giving students the tools and developing the skills to work past those difficulties. I use colorful drawings and engaging explanations to make sure students understand what is really happening behind the numbers and letters. I specialize in identifying the skills that are being assessed, and what skills need to be developed in order to be successful and grow as a student. I work with a variety of students in middle and high school, whether they are confused students feeling behind and discouraged early in their math career, or are advanced students aiming to do well on college admissions exams. Your grade is important, but the grade is indicative of how well you understand the material. Together we can build that understanding so you deserve the grades you want to achieve!
