About Darby

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Nursing, I had to score above proficient in each course I took. I have done private tutoring and have extensive work with kids of all ages. I am seeking to expand my tutoring career as my favorite thing about working with kids is seeing them accomplish goals and be the best that they can be! I believe that each child learns differently and it is my job to figure out how the child learns best and help them succeed.

About the lesson

I provide personalized, one-on-one math support designed to help middle schoolers bridge the gap between confusion and mastery. My approach is patient, encouraging, and focused on long-term retention. The structure of a typical session is as follows:
- A quick review of the previous lesson
- Tackle current school assignments, identifying where the student is getting stuck.
-Using visual aids and real-world examples, we master the why behind the math, not just the how.
-A summary of what was learned and a "game plan" for the upcoming week.

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to real lessons experienced by the students of Darby.

Darby's response
She was attentive and did well with practicing topics that we talked about in practice problems. She had a good grasp on concepts that she felt confident on or needed more work on!
