About Jake
My name is Jake Ruane and I’m currently studying science at the University of Galway!
Ever since entering into the senior cycle in secondary school, I found I had a love for Leaving Cert math and physics. I found these subjects, when compared to the others, so much more enjoyable and easy to deal with once you get to grips with what you really need to know come exam day.
I was always the person who my peers and friends would ask for help, and it was this that eventually led me down the path of teaching these subjects!
I pride myself on being able to break down the more complex ideas in Leaving Cert math and physics into smaller, more digestible concepts, which allow my students to be less overwhelmed by harder questions and have the confidence in their knowledge they need to perform on exam day.

Hi, I’m Jake a first Year college student who loves all things Maths and science!
For the last 2 years I have given grinds in applied maths , Maths and physics to over 30 different students since graduating. Many of which went on to achieve either a H1 or H2 in the subject I tutored them in.
I usually take the approach of 2 classes per topic, we will first go over the problematic topic/chapter in detail then in the following lesson attempt exam style questions to keep the overall focus as exam oriented as possible.
My classes last an hour in total and are all given via Google meets.
I’m willing to cater within reason to any requests made by students such as setting homework and providing worked solutions to questions they struggle with outside of class time for no additional charge.
All my lessons are for 5th and 6th year students who will be sitting the leaving cert.
