About Emilly
I'm a sixth form student studying the International Baccalaureate Diploma including Maths, Physics and English at Higher Level. I've been mentoring for around a year in subjects including Maths, English and Science, helping students achieve between grades 5-9 at GCSE level.

My teaching methodology is breaking down the topic into smaller sections and building up from basic concepts. For example, when teaching students that struggle with algebraic equations including unknowns, I teach them first to treat the unknown as a familiar word such as apples or oranges (i.e. instead of asking them what 3x + 4y is, I first teach them to treat the two different unknowns as apples and oranges and explain that you can't add apples to oranges because they're not the same thing).
