About Jason
I have two years experience as a tutor for the Academic Success Centre at the University of Northern British Columbia, where I gained my Canadian Reading and Learning Association level two tutor certification. Before this, while I was in high school I often tutored my peers as well as students in the grades below me. I am currently a teaching assistant for undergraduate physics courses at the University of British Columbia's Okanagan campus and I volunteer to tutor at-risk students through Okanagan College.

For mathematics and physics the majority of learning is done through practice problems. I believe students learn the most when they work through these problems and discover their own mistakes. For this reason I begin my lessons with a discussion of the topic and example problems. The remaining majority of the lesson I let the student work through problems while I guide them and answer questions when they get stuck. I have experience tutoring mathematics and physics at both high school and undergraduate levels.
