About Michael
While pursuing my masters in physics, I've tutored many of my peers and have helped them learn everything from algebra to quantum mechanics with equal enthusiasm and patience. I have volunteered as a Teacher Assistant at RIRAL, NetworkRI, and The Providence Public Library helping students prepare for the GED and TABE tests. I found that I enjoy using my passion in physics and mathematics to help others reach their full potential as well as better polishing my own skills on how to better explain concepts. For the past one and a half years, I have been teaching introductory courses in physics at CCRI Warwick and have further developed my ability to teach to a diverse group of students, each with their own unique learning styles, cultures, and life experiences. In teaching these courses, I have utilized technology to further help students engage in the course material and have developed creative ways to reach students to create a more dynamic classroom setting. I have had the opportunity to teach my courses online for one and a half semesters and have further developed my approaches to teaching utilizing technology in self-paced (asynchronous) and web-based instruction.
