I am a recent graduate in Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of York, where I graduated with first-class honours. In addition to this, I also have experience of working in classrooms as an assistant as well as having done private tuition for GCSE-level Mathematics students. I am capable of teaching at KS3, GCSE and A-level standard in all different areas of mathematics.
I believe that the most important thing when teaching is to remain patient with the student you are tutoring at all times, and to always remain open-minded to alternative approaches of solving a problem if your favoured method isn't working. My approach to tuition is focused first and foremost on finding the most appropriate method for the individual student and trying to lead the students to the answer rather than dictating the answers to them, which I think is vitally important if the students are to gain a genuinely improved understanding of their work.
