About Emiko
Hi! My name is Emi, and I'm passionate about helping students succeed in math. As a student myself, I understand that math can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when concepts start building on each other. My goal is to make difficult topics easier to understand and help students develop the confidence to solve problems on their own.
I have a strong background in mathematics and experience working with students at different skill levels. I focus on creating a supportive learning environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are treated as opportunities to learn. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to fit each individual's needs and goals.
Whether you're looking to improve your grades, prepare for an upcoming exam, strengthen your fundamentals, or work toward a higher SAT Math score, I'm committed to helping you make real progress. I take lessons seriously, come prepared, and work hard to ensure that every session is productive and worthwhile.

My goal as a tutor is to help students actually understand math instead of just memorizing steps. When a student gets stuck, I try to explain concepts in a simpler way and connect them to ideas they already know. I encourage questions throughout the lesson because I believe that's one of the best ways to learn. I want students to feel comfortable making mistakes and working through problems without feeling judged.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in to see what the student is working on and what they're finding difficult. We'll go over any questions they have, learn or review the topic, and then work through practice problems together. As the lesson goes on, I gradually give the student more independence so they can build confidence solving problems on their own.
One thing that makes me different is that I'm a student myself, so I understand what it's like to learn these topics and where people usually get confused. I know how frustrating math can be when a teacher's explanation doesn't click, so I focus on finding an explanation that makes sense to the individual student. I try to keep lessons relaxed and interactive rather than turning them into another lecture.
My lessons are mainly for middle school and high school students taking courses such as Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, and SAT Math. Whether you're trying to improve your grade, prepare for a test, or just feel more confident in math class, I can tailor lessons to your specific goals and needs
