About Shane

I am currently a student enrolled at USF St. Petersburg majoring in Biology! I also worked as an instructor at the Mathnasium of Countryside. I have the greatest focus in the areas of algebra and trigonometry, but can and have taught at all levels K-12.

About the lesson

My main methodology is guided learning. I particularly use Socratic Questioning with students, where the questions are asked with the purpose of guiding the student towards the answer as opposed to just giving the answer to the student. This allows them to get to the answer on their own, although with guidance, which promotes independence in schoolwork as well as self-confidence in their work.

Shane is not only brilliant, but empathetic and patient. I've heard him tutor our younger student with great results. He's a natural born teacher.

Shane has a true passion for educating others and strives to ensure a firm comprehension within anyone who he assists. He is wonderful with students of all ages who seek to further their knowledge in mathematics. Shane is an experienced, deeply knowledgeable source of reinforcement, reassurance, and patience. As a student and young adult himself, he understands the difficulties in which others may undergo when learning mathematics, and hopes to alleviate these pressures as effectively as possible. As a college student aspiring to become a cardiologist, Shane has dedicated his future to assisting others.
