About Inigo
I have devoted the most recent years of my life to the study of physics, maths and chemistry and in doing so I have developed a real affinity for understanding how they work beneath the surface of equations and facts. Having sat my A Levels relatively recently, achieving 3 A*s and an A in physics, chemistry, maths, and further maths, the intricacies of revision for public examination are fresh in my mind.
And I know what it is to struggle! I have had to sit with some ideas for hours trying to understand them and getting nowhere, especially some of the more abstract concepts in maths. This has led to my developing strong explanatory skills with a focus on breaking ideas down and using simple analogies to convey meaning; throughout both A Levels and GCSEs I have spent much time helping my peers to understand various topics.
I thoroughly enjoy talking though problems and I believe the discursive aspect of these subjects is undervalued in most schools. I bring a cheerful and talkative attitude to my sessions.
I look forward to any lessons we may have in the future!

I have learnt through personal experience that by far the best way to master a mathematical or scientific subject is to solve as many problems as possible, and this is the approach I take to tutoring lessons. In doing so, I seek to not only reinforce the knowledge required to succeed in exams, but to improve the core skills that underly exam problems - these are the skills which students will take with them into further study and beyond.
I recognise that many topics have a conceptual barrier associated with them: my mission is to break these down using the clearest and most comprehensive explanations, while allowing the student to justify for themselves why something is the way it is.
I would typically spend an hour with a student, but I prioritise the needs of individual students and their schedules where possible.

Inigo made a huge impact on my GCSEs as he was able to bring my grades up from 6s and 7s to 9s. He has the unique ability to explain things in a comprehensible way and teach me the reasoning behind the answers, meaning I was much more prepared for the exams but also had a fuller knowledge of my subjects. In maths he even helped me to enjoy myself as I began to catch up in class and tackle topics while being fully aware of what was going on. This has built up my confidence to the point where I decided to take A level maths, something I wouldn't have considered before he tutored me. He also gave me amazing revision and exam tips which I used through all my subjects.
