About María Paula
I know firsthand what it feels like to struggle with a difficult concept and wonder if it will ever click. Throughout my own engineering studies, I faced subjects that pushed me to my limit, and I also moved from Colombia to the United States to pursue my career, learning to navigate a new language and a new academic culture along the way. That experience taught me that persistence, not natural talent, is what truly makes the difference. I bring that same patience and determination to my students: I don't just want to help you get the right answer, I want to help you build the confidence to keep going when things feel hard, because that mindset will take you further than any single formula.

I have a strong academic foundation in math and science, with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's in Industrial Engineering, both from Universidad de los Andes, a university ranked in the top 1% globally (QS Rankings 2026). Thanks to my mechanical engineering background, I have a solid grasp of physics, from mechanics and dynamics to thermodynamics, along with calculus, linear algebra, and statistics. I also have a deep understanding of programming and data analysis, which I enjoy connecting to real-world problems to make abstract concepts easier to grasp. What I love most about tutoring is helping students truly understand the "why" behind a formula or method, not just memorize steps, so they can feel confident solving new problems on their own.
