About Ellen
I have tutored English in middle schools and worked in a math learning center where I tutored a range of math levels for kids aged 5 to 18. I am very familiar with the UC and Common Application, and during my college application cycle, I was accepted by UCLA, UC Berkeley, Harvey Mudd College, Carnegie Mellon University, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, Northeastern University, UC Irvine, and more! I have also scored a 4 or higher on the following AP exams and offer tutoring for both the classes and in preparation for the AP Test(s): AP United States History, AP European History, AP Biology, AP Computer Science, AP English Language. With my experience tutoring younger students, I have learned that lessons should be fun and engaging so that students can still have fun and have an easy time paying attention while they learn. I also like to apply what I am teaching to the real world so that students can feel like there is a greater purpose to learning the material than just good grades. With older students, I have a more structured lesson plan that is made directly from what they feel they need help with in school.
