About David
I have been a TA at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for over two years for TAM251, a solid mechanics course. I would have to lead discussion sections with 20-30 people, hold office hours helping 20+ people in a room with their homework and preparing for exams, so you can be confident in my ability to handle 1 on 1 or group work! I like my students to not just get the right answer, but understand the deeper concepts that lie beneath the coursework!

Description:
Hello! My name is David Andrawes. I’m a senior systems engineering student at UIUC with a 3.9 GPA and have 2+ years of Solid Mechanics tutoring experience at UIUC.
If you’re prepping for a midterm/final, need help completing homework, want a deeper understanding of concepts, or just feel behind, I can help you build a repeatable method and get faster at exam-style problems.
I tutor:
Statics (FBDs, trusses, friction, equilibrium, numpy/sympy)
Solid Mechanics / MoM (stress/strain, torsion, bending, Mohr’s circle, deflection)
Engineering Materials (intro concepts + problem solving)
Engineering Analysis (FEA, research, material testing, etc.)
Calculus 1 & Calculus 3
Format: Zoom or in-person near campus.
Options: 1-on-1 or group review sessions (cheaper per person).
Rate: $40 first session then $50/hr — ask about package deals for exam week.
