About Jonathan
I am in my third year of studying Mathematics at the University of Surrey, and I love it. I really enjoy imparting my enthusiasm for the subject to younger students; I was involved in tutoring GCSE students whilst I was studying for my A levels. If there are any particular sticking points, I believe in developing an intuitive understanding of the subject before delving into calculation, so I will work to build an intuition in the student that demystifies the sometimes involved calculation and should give a feel in an exam for when a solution is going the way intuition suggests, allowing my students to correct mistakes before going down a 20 minute rabbit hole in an exam and coming out with a lower grade than their intelligence deserves. I will also set students personalised questions to explore any areas that have been identified as weaknesses during sessions, to make sure we nail them.
I am applying for jobs in the field of Javascript development, but I have previously worked in jobs using Python and Java, so I am very familar with all 3, and computer science has long been an interest of mine. I can help with anything from basic syntax or algorithms to full stack development and API design.
