About Josh
I am a recent graduate from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematical Sciences. I have taken many college-level math classes, and my overall GPA is 3.97. Math has been my best subject, and I’ve always liked to understand why things are the way they are in math. On top of that, I love to help others understand as well. When I was in high school, I started tutoring math to other high school students. So, I was able to receive one year of tutoring experience there. In college, I continued to tutor high school students and mainly focused on tutoring other college students. I have accrued a total of 3 years of tutoring experience in college. This is through tutoring classes, my part-time job as a math tutor in the BYUI Tutoring Center, and as a TA for many classes at BYUI. I am qualified to tutor/TA for about 30 college-level math courses. Other relevant courses that I have taken are a few math education courses at BYU-Idaho. These have helped me learn how to become a better math tutor and teacher. I believe I am able to help anyone succeed in their math studies, and I am willing to be patient with whomever I help. The way I tutor is based on helping the student learn and discover the beauty in math. I ask useful questions to help the student think for themselves, and I work on math problems with them. As a tutor in college, I have received many evaluations from the students and other tutors, and they have provided strictly positive feedback. Examples of classes I am available to tutor for are high school and college are Algebra classes, Statistics, Geometry, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Calculus 1/2/3, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, Real Analysis, etc. If you have any math classes you are wondering if I can tutor, please reach out. I mainly focus on teaching math principles to help the student understand the concept. I answer questions that the student has and teach how it can make sense. I also help the student figure out how to do math problems and work the problem with them.

Perfect! Patience and knowledge
- He’s doing awesome! He’s very humble and is willing to learn. He’s struggling with getting a schedule and rhythm down for online school. That is something I’ve been helping him with.
