About Vera
I used to struggle with Math/Algebra in middle school and high school, so I get it!! The irony of it all - that I would one day become a middle school Math teacher!!
To the Student: I want to help you succeed!! Your future is what you make it. Math is one of those subjects that teaches you life lessons. You will learn to persevere when you want to quit. You will learn to overcome obstacles. You will learn to problem solve. We will celebrate the small victories together, because they will lead to big wins. It won't be easy, but it will be worth it!!
To the Parent(s)/Guardian(s): I can list my degrees and tell you how smart I am, but to me building a network of people who genuinely care about your child's future outweighs how long I went to school. I have a heart to help your child succeed. Middle school Math is what I do!! Let's work together to help your child get through this!!

My approach as a tutor is individualized. At the start of each session, I will ask about your day. It's a moment where I can get to know you as a person not just as a student. I will also relate your interests to math concepts as often as possible to help you better understand the material/lessons.
